In Trans We Trust, a manifesto for resistance

Siria Bottaro

This artwork is a satirical and critical response to the politics of oppression carried out by Trump and his government and also the considerable radicalisation happening in this current time period. It can be considered as part of the artistic category known as the design of dissent.
It is not a coincidence that it was developed from the United States’ official motto, In God We Trust, playing also on the alliteration of the initial “TR”.
On a larger scale, the message can also be simpler:
we confide in transness, we confide in trans people, in their strength.
We resist with them and for them and for all, because until someone is still oppressed, nobody is free.
We confide in that portion of humanity that still believes we can live without conflicts.

This artwork is part of a larger project called “Poster e polemiche” that includes other designs with LGBTQ+ themes.
